About
What she deems “a series of positive accidents”, Ms.Kulesza’s musical training began at age seven. Piano lessons in tandem with music theory lessons led to learning to read ‘charts’ before studying classical music. On to being trained as a substitute organist at her Catholic elementary school to studying Gregorian chant, Kodaly, Bartok and classical repertoire in high school – on Saturdays! – at a school for liturgical music. Her first experience with Opera was as rehearsal pianist for Poulenc’s “Dialogue of the Carmelites” as a sophomore in college. Thus began a lifelong love and involvement in Opera.
With more than 25 years of experience in the field, Ms. Kulesza’s knowledge encompasses all styles. At least fifty operas comprise her repertoire list; on the podium, she leads with passion and an intimate understanding of the marriage of music to drama.
